VegfestUK Brighton enters its 6th year on the South Coast in 2014 at what is another eagerly anticipated show. In the wake of the Horseburgers' Scandal, last year's event saw stalls sold out a month beforehand and attracted 7,200 visitors over 2 days, with celebrity presence from presenters Janey Lee Grace (BBC Radio 2) and Sarah Jane Honeywell (CBeebies) amongst many interesting speakers. With the hunger for plant-based food and nutrition ever increasing in the UK right now, the 2014 Brighton show expects around 7,000 people over the weekend of March 29th 30th at the Hove Centre.

This year's highlights will include:

  • live opening performance on the gate by the Neon Saints Brass Band
  • live coverage by Juice FM on the Saturday
  • 135 stalls packed with free samples and special discounts
  • a makeup session hosted by Beauty without Cruelty and VeggieVision
  • a speed-dating session hosted by VeggieVision
  • a vegan bodybuilding competition
  • Pull-up challenge at the Vegan Bodybuilders stall
  • Family Day on the Sunday loaded with entertaining kids activities (with Captain James Tea Cook)

Plus VegfestUK are giving our wholehearted support to the Animal Welfare Party in their bid to win a seat in the May 2014 EU Parliamentary Elections - to return a dedicated voice for the animals to the Parliament. Formerly 'Animals Count', the AWP is the UK's 1st political party that is dedicated to issues concerning animals and the planet. The EU elections only come along every 5 years, so this is an unbelievable opportunity to make history for our beloved animals. The AWP will host a talk on Saturday, have an info stall on both days, collect donations and hand out leaflets on the gate, as well as running a short conference on the Sunday in the workshops room. If you think animals deserve a voice in EU politics, please don't forget to vote for the AWP in May! More on the AWP at
